Participants in the chili and soup cook-off are welcome to come early and set up their tables, while the 5K race is underway. 

Immediately following the 5K people will begin to come around and begin the competition. 

Both the winning chili and the winning soup recipes will receive prizes. 

We would like to thank Subway for partnering with us to not only supply lunches for all our runners but they will be on hand on race day to give out 6" sub coupons to everyone who donates to our Blanket Drive. 

Chili & Soup Cook-Off

Applications and entry fee must be in by Friday, November 16, 2018. 

You are welcome to make your favorite chili recipe or soup recipe. Prizes given in both categories. 

Competitor information: 10x10 space available for every entrant, must supply our own tent, tables, napkins and power source. NO electricity or water will be available. Must be creative! In year's past we have had generators, propane and charcoal grills, and some just kept it warm in a dutch oven up until competition time. Each participant is responsible for maintaining their site for the entire event and cleanup after. Competitors should have at least 3 gallons of chili/soup prepared before arrival and keep warm. NDCS will provide dishes and spoons. Chili/soup must be ready to serve for 11 a.m. 

All competitive runners will be given tickets to taste each recipe and vote for their favorite chili and their favorite soup. Non-race participants are given a chance to purchase tickets to taste and vote for $2.00.
